Frequently asked questions

Can Exo Motion Pro be funded under AT-HM?

Possibly, but not automatically. An eligible Support at Home participant must have an assessed need, and their provider or assessor decides whether a particular rental or purchase is an approved support. Exo Motion can supply product details, fitting notes and a quotation for review.

What does AT-HM mean?

AT-HM means Assistive Technology and Home Modifications. It is a needs-assessed scheme within Support at Home. Start with the Exo Motion pathway self-check, then confirm the official process with your provider or My Aged Care.

Can AT-HM support rental as well as purchase?

Official guidance allows approved assistive technology to be bought, rented or loaned depending on assessed need and the provider's arrangement. This does not mean Exo Motion is automatically approved for any participant.

What if AT-HM funding is not approved?

A suitable older adult can still buy privately or enquire about private senior rental at A$129 per week with a four-week minimum. The initial term is A$516. Stock, service area, fitting, written rental terms, security arrangements and periodic equipment checks apply.

How much AT-HM funding is available?

Funding is organised into needs-based tiers. The product price alone does not determine the tier or approval. The participant's assessment, support plan, evidence and provider decision control the outcome and any contribution.

Should an OT or provider assess the user?

Provider or allied-health review is strongly recommended where falls risk, rehabilitation, health conditions or formal funding are involved. Exo Motion provides product orientation and fitting support but does not replace clinical assessment.

How much does it cost to rent an exoskeleton in Sydney?

Exo Motion tourism rental is currently A$129 per unit per rental day. A separate A$1,500 refundable security deposit card pre-authorisation is required before release. See how payment and the deposit hold work. The separate private senior plan is A$129 per week with a four-week minimum and is arranged by enquiry.

Can I get one delivered to my Sydney hotel?

Yes. Exo Motion can deliver to selected Sydney hotels, Sydney metropolitan addresses and agreed handover points where available. Delivery and return details are confirmed after booking.

What if it rains?

Exo Motion Pro is splash resistant for light rain, but guests must use judgement and avoid unsafe conditions. Weather cancellations and rescheduling are handled under the Terms of Hire.

What if it does not fit?

Users must be 190 cm or under, between 40 kg and 150 kg, able to walk independently and able to follow fitting guidance. If the unit cannot be fitted safely on the day, Exo Motion follows the no-fit provisions in the Terms of Hire.

Can I try Exo Motion Pro before buying?

Yes. Book a free Sydney home visit that includes consultation, basic suitability discussion, fitting, a short guided trial and training. Suitable older adults can also enquire about the A$129-per-week private senior plan, which has a four-week minimum.

Can I buy Exo Motion Pro for an elderly parent?

Yes. Adult children and families can arrange a free home visit for a suitable parent or older family member. The purchase price is A$2,499, including fitting, training and a 12-month written warranty.

What is the Australian regulatory status?

Current supplier documentation records the underlying powered lower-limb device as included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods as a Class I medical device. ARTG inclusion is not TGA conformity-assessment certification, proof of a clinical result or automatic funding approval.

What warranty is included?

Purchase includes a 12-month warranty subject to written terms. This is in addition to rights and remedies that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

Is Exo Motion Pro a replacement for a walker, wheelchair or physiotherapy?

No. Exo Motion Pro is not a substitute for prescribed mobility aids, therapy, clinical care or medical advice. It is a wearable walking assistance device for suitable users after fitting, comfort and safety review.

Is Exo Motion a medical service?

No. Tourism and hotel programs are guest experiences. Aged-care enquiries require separate suitability and provider assessment where relevant.

Does Exo Motion provide insurance?

Exo Motion carries A$20 million public liability insurance and A$20 million product liability insurance for approved rental operations, subject to policy terms, exclusions and operating conditions.
